Hi all,

The wife and I are off to the Cotswolds this weekend for a break. Went once many many years ago but don't really remember that much about it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the best places to visit and things to do?

Have heard that Bourton on the Water is a bit special. And also, (importantly) whats the local brew?

Hi there, i used to live close to Bourton on the water and can tell you that it is a nice place. However if you go there when it is warm it tends to get very busy as the river that runs it is very shallow and every man and his dog go there. You could try Stow on the wold that should not be so busy and again is quite nice.

There is also a bird sanctuary at Bourton which is worth a visit. But yes my Gran lives there and in the Summer/warm weather is a nightmare!

Not far from the Slaughters too. Should be some good photo ops there.

I would think that Hooky should be on tap around there? Not sure what else!

Slaughters are definitely photogenic.

The Fosse Way (A429) has a lot of lovely villages, including Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water, so you may want to plan a route along there.

Cirencester is the main connurbation around here, with lots to photograph.
