i know.. wish i's not said anything now it was only a joke!

think i shall stick to reading and not writing lol

Just to continue in the thread of Mr English butthead...it should have been written:
"brown dog", that's a bit of an oxymoron..
to imply that "brown dog" is the oxymoron, however, DMT's was almost completely correct; what it should have been is:
browndog, that's a bit of an oxymoron..

as she was talking to browndog..

Sorry again...just can't resist it sometimes...

They say its against their human rights! What about the human right of the Garry Newloves of the world? His family? No wonder we have anti- social behaviour, murders and stabbings on the streets when your not allowed to 'punish' or in fact do anything to youth causing anti social behaviour. Oh sorry - you can. You give them a badge saying 'ASBO' on it, you know, like a Blue Peter badge.......

The use of these devices should be spread far and wide. Why not stick them of fire engines - may help stop kids lobbing bottles, stones and fireworks are the crews. Either that or turn the hose on them.....

We have just had a 15 and a 16  year old arrested in connection with a brutal beating to death in our town. At that age I was tickling trout, scrumping apples and helping old ladies across the road. Beating someone to death? we had too much respect for our fellow humans.

What's wrong with this country is apathy-people won't get off their butts and do something about problems, they just sit there moaning about it or put their views on websites letting off gasWink [;)]

You werent. And I'm not now. Neither are the majority of teens in this day or your day.

But I bet there were a minority of teens that were overly violent back in your day, as there are now. There may be a slight increase in percentage, but I think most of it is down to increased media coverage and population.

Anyhow, The thing is with them is that they are still targerting a specific age group regardless of the persons motives or actions. What about someone waiting for a friend or parent? Do you think that teens are the only people that are violent and act "anti socially"

The answer to the problems does not lye in annoying devices but in a better law and punishment system.

Just thought I'd throw the other view back in there as it was getting a bit one sided Big Smile [:D]

Re: ...this is what's wrong with this coutry.......

Back in your day Mods were beating the shizzle out of Rockers.
The same applies now. 'cept its Chavs against Rockers.

I went/go out of my way to avoid fighting. I hate it. I've had the leaving sh*te kicked out of my about 5 times. Broken jaw, nose a few times, cracked ribs and eye socket. I've been mentally and physically battered by teens.
But it wasnt ALL people between 11 and 22.
It was a select few, and thats what older people dont seem to get.
It all goes back to "your" day, when exactly the same thing happened, you just didnt have News 24 to constantly go over it.

90%, probably even more, of teens are just normal, average, good people.
Its that small percentage that beat people up, kill people, steal, vandalize, and all sorts, that get all this publicity, and put a downer on the rest of us.

All thats ever said is bring back corporal punishment and national service.
Neither will help. Eye for an eye, and giving ultraviolent, hormone fueled teens guns.

I salute people that stand up for themselves, and what they believe, in the face of danger and threats, and they should be rewarded.
But its retarded to just point the blame at anyone in my generation and say we're all hooligans.

Better upbringings, better educations, better prospects in life, and just a more general strictness with these people, instead of letting them get away with it.
CCTV and better relations with the police and these "community support officers", not anti-pest devices tuned into the waveband of teenagers.

You certainly have your percentages wrong there, you may be right in the fact that there was a very small minorty of teens who showed signs of violence, they would only use their hands and feet to fight, now though it's knives and guns. I'm afraid that if they choose to use these things to take a life for something as stupid as not showing enough respect or drug related then they should be given the same sentence as they did in the past, Hung.

Adesw, you're not old enough to know anything about the school of life yet you're only just starting out (wet behind ears Wink [;)] )

I'm afraid you've missed my point completely.

My "percentages" are fine. As I said, there may be a small increase in the percentage of violent teens, but if you consider that there is a larger population then there used to be this "percentage" appears larger due to the amount of people it accounts for, aswell as the "doom and gloom" obsessed media.

Guns are more readily available to people these days, but I'm sure that the actual amount of people with the mind set to kill someone for no reason is still relatively small as it was back "in your day".

Having said that I've had quite a relatively lucky upbringing, getting through my "childhood" with only shattered front teeth and a wonky nose. But matt makes my point better then i do.

Is Stan Walker finally, really banned from the forum?

From across the western sea, I can only say it's past time. A certain amount of leeway has to be made, but vicious ethnic stereotyping and baiting is beyond the limits. Stan is one of the reasons I haven't visited this site so often in recent months.
