No, I don't think you've overdone it. The only other suggestion I might make is to crop out the lower stone. This is an aesthetic/subjective thing, but try it and see if it improves it for you.

I took this shot using a canon 30d, canon 10-22mm, iso100 at f25 with a b+w nd16 and singhray reverse grad (3 stop)..

limited processing. here is the screen shot of my raw file with canon's bundled viewer
