Hi everyone!

I'm Charlotte and I'm 22, I recently bought a Canon 400D with a 90-300mm lens and a 18-55mm lens for going to South Africa with. I'm a teacher, but would really love to get into photography more as the more I learn the more interested I am.

Live in Cumbria, so I get plenty of ops for great Lake District views (although I usually stumble upon them, rather than knowing where to go!). Eventually I'd like to get into more fashion photography... but we'll see

Welcome back. I would suggest perhaps your email spam filter is blocking emails from this site ..?

Hi Steve. I tried looking in them and there was no emails there either. When I typed my email into the site, the page just refreshed and no information was given. However, I think I prefer this account better: It means I can give myself a fresh start

Sometimes they just don't appear ... oh well a fresh start can be good

Fresh starts can be good I just hope the photo's i've added are good. People's photos on here when I look at them make me jealous in awe!

Very wise words. Unfortunately I rarely heed them! But there's plenty of people here can help you with your photography .. don't ask me though, I'm just a happy snapper

Post your query in 'How To: Choosing Equipment' and possibly even in 'Shooting' and you will get plenty of advice.  Personally I never use filters as I can create effects in PP if need be, but some ND Grads and a Polarizer are always a good starting point, depending on whether you have a rotating lens. Of course many people use a UV or Skylight all the time outdoors, though they are not to be confused as they are quite different. But ask the experts cos I'm just rambling ...

Hi Jo, I've just came back :( (want to move there eventually though!) I was in Limpopo just outside of Vaalwater. I came to Cape Town for a few days... loved it! Still new to this photography thing but think I got a few good pics. Thanks :)
