Yes, they are living in a local woods. The nest they are using is a woodpeckers, and there are about six of them but I've only see three. Thanks for the comments. Big Smile [:D]

Great shots of the parakeets, we got a whole colony of those living near me somewhere I think they're in a tree in one of the gardens at the back of our house but down a bit if that makes sense....also got a whole tree of crows (a Murder apparently is the collective name for a group of crows) they were ganging up on a magpie the other weekend...by the time I had grabbed my camera, got it out started it up and focused the magpie had gone and the crows had settled down Sad [:(]

I just never seem to be able to get the camera focused in time (Fuji S6500fd bridge) to get really good bird shots, which is annoying as we have Parakeets, Crows, Magpies, Sparrows, Robins, Finches (not sure which type think they're chaffinches yellow ***?) and pretty certain I heard a woodpecker the other day.....all within about 300 yards of my house.....

As ususal there are fantastic shots here, I will hopefully get some good shots of monkeys/orangs/macaques etc at the weekend as we're off to Monkeyworld so will post some when I get them uploaded.

The camera never lies (but the software does if you have it)

Agreed Keith that Fuji bridges (I have an S9500) do have a lag (compared to a DSLR) on getting focus lock on moving subejcts.
Have you experimented with the different focus modes - I'd use multi-zone more on the S9500 if it wasn't for the constant humming and whining coming from the camera Sad [:(]

Still trying to summon time and patience to be in the garden with a camera ready for when the red kites and buzzards etc come over....

You need to prefocus the camera, on trees for example around where the birds will appear, then wait and you should get the shot. The speed problem was the reason in getting the D3. Big Smile [:D]

Ah - attempting to photograph Swifts and Swallows - that way lies madness - or at least a headache! At the right time of day I can stand by the lake near the river and have them whizzing inches from my head - seldom manage to get one in focus though! Well done!!
