Hearing on the world service that a New Zealander was arrested for trying to buy something at a petrol station with marijuana. He discovered he didn't have any money on him, so tried to do a swap. Unfortunately he failed to notice the person standing right behind him in the queue was a policeman, who promptly arrested him.

I think the only infinite in this limited universe is the capacity for stupidity.

The car needing fixing to get through its MOT, yup I know that sounds strange, but when we went to pick it up the guy had said it would be £450 plus on the phone and on arrival he only charged us £415.odd so we saved a bit  which we decided we would put towards getting it serviced, as it is going to get some heavy use in the next 3-4 months, as we are hoping to go camping a bit more than we have done last year but it obviously depends on the weather....So that made me feel good knowing that my wife is now driving around in a car that is safe and roadworthy.....bummer is bang goes the money for the K200 oh well start saving again lol

Receiving an email from Warehouse Express advising that they had received my 40D order. Fifteen minutes later I emailed a reply requesting that they hold off from posting it until the end of the week as I shall be away for a couple of days. A short while later I received a reply saying sorry, but the item has already been posted. Wow - they very nearly sent it before I'd even ordered it.

Hubby being invited to the dinner with the Irish rugby team in June. Only downside is I'm not invited . Will make for interesting conversation on their table......1 Englishman, 1 Scotsman, 1 Irishman, 2 Australians and 1 New Zealander

Proving yet again that my maximum heart rate is not 220 - my age as all the web sites say.

That's just the point that it feels like you're going to die. Maximum is higher - I'm still not sure what it is.....

Kidography. It's like photography. But more fun.

Discovering my wife hasn't got a mild White T Cell Lymphoma but instead just has a severe case of dermatitus which the gp has prescribed some cream for (£38.00 a pop thank goodness for the NHS) and has told her to go back in a week and if it's still as bad then she will give her a scrip' for a different cream (possibly Hydracortisone? I'm guessing here)....And the really good news for my wife, she can't do any food prep so no cooking for her then, she can't do washing up unless she wears non treated latex free gloves and fills them with aqueos cream...so no washing up for her then, and she can't even touch the soap tablets for the washing.....so no having to sort the washing out...Looks like I might be kinda busy for the next few weeks or so Joking aside I'm just glad we know what it is now and hopefully this stuff the Doc has prescibed will sort it out.....if not then the doc will re-examine the case and look at other treatments.....

That's quicker than Jessops, who had my order for 29 days before sending an email saying it was instock. Needless to say I haven't replied yet. This was for the Nikon 24-70mm 2.8 lens costing £987.

Sorry about your wifes problems and adding to you own, as posted in another thread. Hope things improve quickly on both fronts.

Thanks OB, as I say we're just glad it's not White T Cell Lymphoma and "just really bad dermatitus" as my wife put it when she e-mailed me to tell me, at the end of the day there are people a damn sight worse off than us, we at least have a roof over our head, food in our stomachs and jobs to pay the bills, I keep seeing the pictures on the news of the earthquake/cyclone vicitms and can't help but think "there but for the grace of God" (and I'm not really religious but you know what I mean).
