Re: STREET LIFE - Post your street life work here

As always there are some great shots being posted.

Not sure f I prefer these in B&W or colour

He didn't land too well in the last picture - had to put the camera down and go comfort him while an ambulance was called - his knee popped out and twisted in completely the wrong direction.

(a pro photographer would have got a shot of that no doubt!

    martinpem,
mind you asking? course not! i'm pretty flattered, to be honest.

anyhoo, this is what i did
    1. duplicate background, blend mode: hard light
    2. then high pass filter, radius about 20-ish
    3. then flattened the 2 layers and changed this layer's blend mode to overlay
    4. i then over-sharpened the composite layer with unsharp mask
    5. hue/saturation adjustment layer - colorised with a warm hue (bout 25), reduce opacity
    6. added vignette
    7. then meddled with a curves adjustment layer, and reduced the opacity of this layer.

    hope this helps.

I do not have any photographs myself that would be suitable, however I do love looking at photographs of this nature. It can sometimes pull you to that place and you can imagine so much more than the actual photograph itself.

I am new to the whole photography thing, in fact I havent even got my SLR camera yet, but I am trying to learn. I am enjoying the section.

Jesus, You did ALL that. I think this has highlighted another problem that I am going to face and that is once I have my photographs on the computer, what options to choose in Photoshop in order to make them worthy. I would never have thought of performing those actions on any picture. Is it just experience? playing around with the software or did you have the knowledge anyway?

I think the second one's a cracker. A well caught comment on the world some people choose to live in! (Not me thanks.)

It would sit well in one of those Sunday suppliments.

I agree with Graham, Chris - the second shot is a great capture. The picture below shows a slightly different lifestyle...
