    Monitor problems with DCM forum

Hi, don't know if this is a problem for anyone else...

When I quick on the "quick repy" button the white reply box comes up and the background goes dark.  No problem.  But then the page (or at least the background) goes light/dark/light/dark.  It jumps from light to dark avery 20 or 30 seconds.  I thought I had a monitor problem and have turned of my calibration, checked the leads etc.  But guess what I should have done was realised that it is only this site that I have the problem!

I've spent time on other sites, and using software packages and the moniotr is fine.  And the DCM site is fine until I use the quick reply button.

Any ideas?  It seems a recent thing, perhaps the last 10-14 days.  Any changes to the site that might cause this?

For what it's worth, no problems with the laptop screen.

If there's nothing that can be done fair enough, I'll have to live with it Sad [:(]

Doesn't affect my monitor, the site only goes slightly grey until I post my Quick Reply. Big Smile [:D]

No change on mine when I do a quick reply - text box just stays white, background grey until I post  so cannot suggest anything I am afraid.

Re: Monitor problems with DCM forum

    Cheers all.

Lurkalot, mine looks like that, butthe grey goes to light grey, then dark grey.  It's as if the mointor is changing settings during calibration, but I switched the calibration off so no it's not that.

Oh well.  Guess I'm stuck with it.  Was hoping it might have been a glitch introduced recently with my screen size/IE6 something like that.

The monitor might pack-up next week then I'll know it was that.  Strange how it is only DC Mags site.

I get the same action, I suppose its because your sending a reply and the focus is on what you are doing and not the forum, if the form window did not dim, it would be harder to see the boundary of the quick reply frame, I thought it was a good thing but I suppose its down to personal preference.

Re: Monitor problems with DCM forum

Cheers guys, as I say, mine looks like that to, but it doesn't stay like that, it flashes in the background.  It's ok, no big deal, just a bit annoying and strange that it's only recently started.

    Thanks anyway.

What browser are you using? Sometimes I use Firefox and can't see what I'm typing on this site! It is just this site and Firefox. so I'm guessing this site isn't FFF.

Re: Monitor problems with DCM forum

Admin told me ' The software that runs the site is an old lady.'

True that's what they told me on my problems with emails flooding into my inbox.

I'd like to meet her, poor dear.......... I would ring her neck.

Fancy leaving an old lady to send that many emails. Someone ought to check to see if she hasn't fallen onto her keyboard for some reason. Like fainted or worse.
