Just decided to do a bit of reading last night and decided to flick through the Digital SLR handbook that came free with DC mag issue 68. I just got reading the accessories page and there was a handy tip section that said "Rechargeable batteries for your flashgun can save a fortune, but NiMH rechargeables tend to go flat even when they're not doing anything. Instead, try Uniross Hybrio batteries, which give you the best of both worlds - long life when in use, without going flat when they're not. A set of four AA Hybrio batteries costs around £5".
Sounds like what you guys were talking about. Do they need a different charger? i.e. a Uniross one and not my energizer one? When you say Wilkinson, are you talking about the high street bargain shop or the Wilkinson Camera website shop?
I will be testing the 2 batteries I charged up on the right hand side soon, if they are dead then I know the whole package is rubbish. If so I will be buying something new and the Uniross stuff sound pretty good. I have seen them in Currys and Jessops before but didn't know much about the brand.
P.S. I am slightly confused, you say these Uniross hybrio are still NiMH? The mag article says try hybrio instead of NiMH.
