Re: CHAT FOR THE WEEKEND COMPETITION 19th-20th JULY 2008

Well my entry is in, a surprise because I'm not supposed to be here but have been gifted a weekend off so took the camera for a walk.  A loose interpretation on the theme I guess, but hey, rules are made to be bent Smile [:)].  I'd like the chance to revisit this when the light is better and try a few more variations of it (the whole building is full of detail and interest), but time constraints didn't allow for the comp.

Stephanie tells me that the theatre is still in use occassionally but it looks like it has stood empty for quite some time.

PS - before any comments role in about straightening, you'll notice that the lintel and sign are straight, the street and the rest of the building was pretty wonky!

Good luck everyone, I'm interested to see what entries we get.  I'm sure that someone will interpret the theme in a unique and surprising way.

But looking at filter99's effort,....if he enters that one he had better start thinking about what subject he is going to set for next weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!

My entry is in for this week:

    Safe & Sound.....

Although the weather has just picked up here so might pop out to see what else I can get.

Great shot Filter99, but I don't think you should enter it Wink [;)] Stick out tongue [:P]

    Good luck all.

Some great entries already. I particularly like filter99's great gothic image, and also Alan Ingham's wonderfully detailed and characterful capture.

Mine is a little Mexican tin mirror with mirrored doors. It wasn't my number one idea (partly because I knew it would be hard work to get the reflection right, and it was) but the first didn't work out.

Lovely image Alan - I like the details and the subtle colour treatment. Hope you have a good break - all the sweeter I expect because you managed to get out of doing the poll. Wink [;)]

Re: CHAT FOR THE WEEKEND COMPETITION 19th-20th JULY 2008

Had fun with this today, Ended up with 3 shots all very similar this time but I think the first is my favourite so that is in.

    Love the Door filter99!

Also love the shed ABERS! “Nothing but A DOOR within the frame ( no pun intended).” Hmmm….

Kate1308, I like the postcard effect. It looks like you live in a nice place. My only comment would be I would love to have viewed it the same shape as a postcard.

Wasn't too pleased with my original entry earlier so been out trying to find some interesting doors with little joy unfortunatley.

    Did get this shot though:

Not sure now whether to stick or twist?? Any thoughts?

    Cheers

    Some great entries this week.

Bodsao - the first is definately the best, more impact. Great image.

Stevebedder - I like both images, but think the original is better.

    I've jus posted mine
