    Post Edit Best

    Hi everyone,

after a discussion that raged on last week in the competition forum about post editing I thought I would give everyone who enjoys a bit of "playing" around in Photoshop or other packages to but their best shot here.

The only Rules are that you give a brief explanation of how the effect or shot was achieved.

Also if possible add in the original unedited shot Big Smile [:D]

Here is mine to start, it was taken for the Weekend comp 4th/5th feb 2007 and the only thing that i have done to achieve the style was ramp up the curves in CS2 until i was happy with the pic then added a frame which was free with this months DCM

    Have fun every one

Well filter, as no one seems to be taking you on, I'll post a couple from this afternoon. I don't have anything as sophisticated as cs2. Just used graphic pen in elements & invert.

You wouldn't believe what you can get away with in art class now. I passed my foundation art degree by basically drawing stick men. With socio-political observations, 3d sculpture and a stack of work to support it, but stick men nevertheless :)

Filter this is going to be a popular thread when people get into it, I had a look through my portfolio but didn't have anything worth posting here, most of my editing is 'fairly' modest.

This was made out of 6 seperate shots chosing Lighten on each layer bar the first one to allow the light to come through the the colour was added into the Light shot using hue saturation

    filter99:

In the first one I used the magnetic lasso tool to select all the dark colours. Then I checked the lasso at 500% and made adjustments as required. Then inverted and played around with channel mixer to get the colour.

In the second one I lighten the statue then added the other two, which had been created from another photo.

With both I used the dodge and burn tools to tidy up.

I keep all original raw files. Big Smile [:D]

    Hi

this is one of my favourite attempts at post editing, from

    to

apart from the crop (- i like the square format), i turned the shot to negative, then played around with the curves and levels. I had fun doing it and for a while afterwards i tried converting everything to negativeBig Smile [:D] - doesn't work so well on family photos !

Gill - That's a nice conversion, really striking shot, almost ultra violet. It's good to play around with an image, as you can turn a simple picture into a fantastic shot. Quite arty. Well done. Big Smile [:D]

Filter, I had a go at the bottle - and have to say, I think the light was probably not storng enough on mine, and it was Luck that the light trails are as they are - the other 12-14 shots were pants :)

This was originally going o be for the 'Drinks' weekend comp a couple of weeks ago, however pooter died halfway through making it.

The pictures themselves have had very little editing and its all just layered up with a triptych border given free with another magazine.

Kind of just wanted to finish it off now I've got another new poot so there you are.
