hi there, could anyone tell me what "burnt out" means? i have read it in a cople of other threads but don't know what it means or what it looks like in a photo. (i am a complete beginner!)
cheers, craig hammond
Hi Craig,
generally I think that this would refer to the highlights of an image (blown is another expression) it means that they have been overexposed & are just white & void of detail....hope this helps,
Regards,
Don
or the camera could have "burnt out" if it got to hot.
Cant burnt out also refer to shadows being underexposed so that no detail is captured?
Hi adesw.
Would'nt that be "burnt in"?
Craig. I think tiff's given the answer you need.
Graham.
shelfy:or a photographer whose house has been the victim of an arsonist.
