50D pricing - please post your deals here

£979 at play.com here due to release next week

£1k @ yastronics here in stock

£1k @ camerabox here in stock

Laughably, I was in Jessops on Tuesday (don't ask) and asked if he had one. I quote ' well even if we did you wouldn't be able to see it as it's not released yet' Really I said? It's on your website for delivery, and I was going to save me a journey to Park cameras. 'Oh,er well...' Didn't have one though, not surprisingly. Big Smile [:D]

    Anymore for anymore?

That sounds about right for Jessops  but they do have a EOS 30D in for £300 at my local Jessops.

why do people even bother asking for help at jessops. i figure that the best thing to do with jessops is to go on toe camerapricebuster.com and find the discount codes and just do a collect at store, its going to feel the same as a 40d anyway.

One of the shops here in Peth has told me they will be selling it for about $1700. Not sure what the current exchange rate is but I think it works out pretty well for UK buyers.

That sounds quite good Duncan. Shipping might be a tad pricey though! lol.

Bentonville Mall at £840 - in stock! Anybody used them?

Found a secondhand one on Amazon last night - £530. Wouldn't let me order it though. Couldn't ship to UK! Even though dealer is in UK?

Spoke to the supplier this morning and it turns out somebody has put the lisiting up against their account, but they don't sell cameras. Seems like I've just avoided getting fleeced. Phew! Hmm [^o)]

Re: 50D pricing - please post your deals here

The 50D seems to be going for about £820 now on eBay - that is from UK based Power Sellers. Reading the ads carefully, it looks as though these prices are for cameras not sourced in the UK but they usually have warranties.
One thing - it doesn't half devalue your older cameras at these prices. I have a 20D and it must be worth very little now but it's a fine camera.

Re: 50D pricing - please post your deals here

All depends on the warranty. Canon UK do not honour warranties from US or Asia on camera bodies, they are region specific. Lenses have an international warranty which is honoured worldwide.

I used to have an email from Canon UK on this very subject, having spent along time talking to them about it  while back.

The ebay prices are about the same as buying it from HK or similar.

Yep I used them to buy a 70-200 2.8 is.... They were very good. I has read on-line about problems with packaging which made me a bit cautious but I think it was a ciuple of isolated occasions a while back. You maybe able to collect if you are not to far away.

I would definatly use them again

Re: 50D pricing - please post your deals here

Depends on your subject really. If you shoot portraits,5d. if you need higher fps for sports or wildlife say, 50d.

    What's your subject?

    Hi Mike

I suppose I mainly do landscape/nature. Speed is certainly not an issue for me ... I think slowly too! However I do have 3 new grandchildren.....
