Hi Guys.
I have a Nikon D50, which my brother has had for a while. I am just starting to get into photography so i am using his at the moment.

But, the thing is, i reaalllly dont know how to use the thing! I am going to download the user manual from the Nikon website.

But, i was just wondering, wether there are guides anywhere to help me know exactly what iso, aperture, shutter speed etc all do. E.g something that breaks it all down into simple terms. Be it a book, dvd, cd or website.

I had a little look with search but couldn't find anything. So can anyone help me?

A few starting places:

http://www.nikondigitutor.com/eng/d40/index.shtml based around the d40 rather than the d50 but gives a few good videos covering the basics - on the menu on the left hand side I would start with the PSA and M modes

http://www.nikondigitutor.com/eng/d50/index.shtml is the d50 equivalent but I've not looked at this one before.

Don't bother, just put it into P mode and go out and take pictures. All the stuff about ISO, White Balance, Aperture and speed you will pick up as you go along. It's the fasted way to learn.

Go to Amazon and have a look at the Magic Lantern guides. I got one for my D80 on DVD for about £12. I learnt more in 1 hour looking at the dvd and its far more interesting than reading the manual. It takes you through all the different modes and settings.
