Majestic Mute!!

Majestic Mute!!

I know when most people buy a new camera or long lens then the first thing they normally do is head straight to the nearest lake, river or canal to capture a picture of a swan. Well here's mine but just a little late as I've had my camera over a year now, LOL..........Alan.

Nicely framed, Alan. It works well in the central position of the verticl pano style crop, and sits nicely against the water. I really like this. Cheers, Col.

I think your crop really works well here to elongate that elegant neck of that beautiful bird!  Nice capture!  I must say, I saw a swan get out of the water the other day and walked across to another dam - i was mesmerised - cos in the water, they look majestic and elegant - but when they get out - they are a squat, uncomfortable looking bird!  Fascinating!  Cheers JO

Beautiful shot of a very majestic bird! I, too, like the crop here and the composition is dead on! I think one of your very best technically but also a shot that reminds us that even the most photgraphed of scenes never grow old , as we see them all so differently.

I really like the texture of the water as it adds depth to the image - nicely captured and I agree with the comments above about the composition and the crop.  Lovely, simple shot Alan.  Kind regards, Anna

Alan this shot is a refreshing change from the normal and like everyone else I think it works very well with its central position within the frame with super plain background and gentle reflections it all comes together to make something which is different  eye catching and well conceived and good on you for trying something different and using the camera in portrait a really nice shot which grows on you the more you look at it well done . all the best   Gav.
