It is 45km long and these huge rocks, all having been assigned different names, are to be seen along the route. The colours and vegetation (if any) vary on the rocks dependent upon which weather side they are exposed to. This particular rock faces North and is therefore heavily encrusted with moss.

Rodalben Felsen Wanderweg
<media:text type="html">

Rodalben Felsen Wanderweg
The Felsen Wanderweg, or roughly translated, the Rocks Hiking Route/Trail is a well known and visited hiking trail which surrounds the small town of Rodalben in the south of Germany. This Wanderweg, or Hiking Route/Way is approx 45 km long and contains numerous examples of coloured Felsen (Rocks). This small sample of images in the 'Rodalben Felsenwanderweg' album will give you a small taste of a much larger landscape. Enjoy.

PS Google coordinates for Rodalben are 49° 14' 26.72" N 7° 37' 59.79"E

Please note that the images contained within the Rodalben Felsenwanderweg Album have all been taken using a Canon G5 compact camera. They are not of the quality of a dSLR and were not expected to be so. The images posted here are not intended for critical review (although always welcome :-))but instead to share my love of hiking in this beautiful part of southern Germany. Besides which, how would you like to carry a full dSLR kit around for over 45 km's? :-)

Let's Go This Way
<media:text type="html">

Let's Go This Way
For those who want to rendezvous with Nature and distance themselves from everyday stress then look no further than the Rodalber Felsenwanderweg in the Pfälzerwald Nature Park.
