Dawn Fishermen

Dawn Fishermen

An early, cold morning on Lake Windermere and this fishing boat appeared through the mist. I was set up with the old faithful 17-40mm, but saw the opportunity and switched to my 70-200mm. I like the tones and the 'pose' of the fishermen and their rods. Thanks for looking. Baz Hutton

Stunning atmosphere here - I can only imagine what it must feel like to be out, wrapped up in heavy clothes, in a tiny boat as the sun rises over misty water. You've composed the shot well, and the mist level has helped illustrate the depth of the shot through the different shades of the distant landscape. If only you'd uploaded a larger version!

I really like this shot Baz and totally agree with JD: the atmosphere captured is fantastic, shades of the landscape make the picture - along with the mist around the boat. Cheers, Pete.

MPOTD- & this time I am here to see it! Thank-you, for your comments. This was not what I set out for in the morning, but it was the best shot I came back with. Just shows it pays to be ready to adapt I guess. JD- I'd love to upload bigger files, but I have concerns about unlawful copying. Am I being unreasonable/ paranoid- or worse!

Wonderful example of minimalism - congratulations on this superb front page shot - and I agree with JD - it would have been nice to see it "slightly" larger - just remeber if someone wants to steal your work they will - be satisfied that it is of sufficiently high quality - and remember it might just cost them a "rake of bucks" - and earn you a few in the process - lol - enjoy your day Baz - I am - and don't be so neurotic - cheers Gil.

Great shot, very atmospheric. Congratulations on the front page. As for work being 'stolen', I think I'd open a bottle of champagne if someone thought anything I did was worth stealing -lol. Howard

Great shot and one I would be proud of. I love the way the boat has good detail, whilst the background fades into layers. Top Marks!
