Beautiful lighting in this really makes the pier stand out. The water and sky very strong too.

Thank you for all your kind words.  I tried to go for a more subtle HDR conversion to really just pull out the texture in the sky and sea which seems to have come off nicely.  The sea looks gorgeous in the original 3000 odd pixel wide original.  The posted one here is only around 1200 pixels wide so you don't quite get chance to zoom in close.  It almost gives me the impression of an oil painting rather than a photograph.

A great effort Julian..........it works very well. Good highlights on the beach and building and what a dramatic sky. It all comes together nicely........top shot.

I'm not a big fan of HDR but the sky and light are amazing.
