Good news, just had the call from the Royal Photographic Society and I got the Associate Award, chuffed beyond belief, now I have 9 months work towards the Fellowship that they'd like me to be involved in. Not bad I suppose for somebody who picked up a D70 2 years ago and didn't know how to even save a file in CS...
Owe most of the drive to suceed in this to you guys on here who have supported me over the last 18 months, thank you!
Cheers
Tim

Cheers guys, really appreciate that.
Basically you first submit work to see if your allowed to enter, in my case I submitted 50 images. This was accepted and I then had to select 15 that were all in sequence with a particular area of my work, these should be of the best possible quality from a professional stance and also show that you strive to the top of your field of work and display work that shows you pushing the boundaries of what has been produced previously in this field professionally. Lastly, and this is the hard bit... you provide a statement of intent that should give details of what work you do, why you do it, what you want to achieve form it, and what you have achieved from it. In my case I used Aston as one of my client proofs and had a statement from their CEO reporting £2.8 million increase in classic sales due to my work, which of course helped...
Its hard but its a great thing to achieve, I've been asked by the judges to work for 9 months towards the status of being a 'Fellow' and if time allows I think I would really like to do this, not sure I'm good enough for that but they seem keen to get me to that level and apparently I then could end up being on the judging panel myself according to my contact in RPS. Something else I feel I'm not qualitfied for just yet. I'm working hard to improve and develop my style further and will continue to do so, passion is the key and not letting the hard times get to me.

You the Man Mr Wallace! Many many congrats.. Of course, I knew you'd get it. So, are all these self portraits for your PR campaigns?
Hopefully in nine months we'll be singing, He's a jolly good FELLOW (of the RPS).
All the best, Jason.

Cheers guys, extreamly kind and thanks again for your support and feedback, I only hope that my work inspires people to believe that we all have it in us to reach out and try for those things in life we often covert but rarely risk out to reach.
Have a great weekend

You must be absolutely over the moon Tim, despite what lies ahead of you I guess. Can't believe that you have progressed to this level of photographic work in such a short space of time - shows what you can achieve if you push yourself. Even your "boring" photos are so well thought out. Cheers, Andrew.

Very well done Tim. Its great that you're recognised for all the hard work and high standards that you produce. As well as the RPS your skills are recognised in the motor industry and in the photographic field. I'm sure you'll go on from strength to strength.....so you can stop looking bored now, lol! Best wishes, Steve.
