I was signed off and about to go to bed - when I saw this exquisite image Sandra - I am not often drawn to flower images - unless they are unusual and different - this has those rare qualities in abundance - what a wonderful image - must be a future contender for POTD - well done indeed girl - cheers Gil.

I find this fascinating because unlike other flower shots which concentrate on colour standing out above a green background, there's no other colour except green throughout the image; a thousand different shades and details. Despite being the same colour, the bokeh really helps to lift the foreground. -JD

At least this is a "new" posting - enjoy the front page recognition Sandra - this image deserves to be there on its merit - although it is so good it should have been the "main" image - no offence to Hugh's great snowscape intended - well done - cheers Gil.

No offense taken...;-).
DMT, the lighting on this is fantastic - the dark tips of the leaves and the lighter core of the flower really work beautifully to capture the eye and keep it centred. Congrats on MPOTD (although I agree that it should also be regale in the full glory as a POTD).

thanks guys, i thought the little pics on the front were random with a refresh.. so does the "M" stand for mini?
anyway thanks for all the comments, i'm lucky enough to live near many large gardens so have plenty of scope for my favourite subject, i put this one up for id really as i cant seem to find this particular flower in my RHS book..
it was taken at the beth chatto gardens.
