Hengistbury Head, Dorset

Photo taken at sunset of the 200 ft groyne at the end of Hengistbury Head. Taken using an EOS 5D with a Lee .6ND Hard Grad and a .9 uniform ND grad. Shutter speed of 30 seconds at f16.

30 Seconds at Stair Hole

Long exposure taken at Stair Hole. A 3-stop ND Grad was used to kold back the sky while a uniform 3 stop grad enabled the long exposure of 30 seconds. The purple hue of the image was an unexpected surprise from using the Cokin uniform neutral density filter. I have just upgraded to the Lee filter system and have purchased a ProGlass ND filter - I must go back to take this image again using the new filter to see what difference it makes.

Dancing Ledge

Another one of my favourite places on the Dorset Coast. I consider myself to be very fortunate, as a lot of my favourite landscapes in the UK are no more than an hour from my house.

Chapman's Pool

Taken from the same spot as the other Chapman's Pool photo some 5 minutes after sunset. Again, the desire to keep detail in the sky, cliffs and fisherman's huts required the use of HDR.

Chapman's Pool sunset

Sunset image taken a few weeks ago from Chapman's Pool on Dorset's Jaurassic Coast. Wanting to keep detail in the cliff ruled out the use of an ND grad - this image is therefore an HDR composite of three images taken at -2, 0, and +2 exposure compensation.

Durdle Door

My favourite image of the much photographed Durdle Door on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. I have photographed Durdle Door many times over the years, yet the colour, composition and soaking that my feet makes this image something special.
