Sunrise at the Rock.jpg

Sunrise at the Rock.jpg

This was taken at Sunrise at Ayres Rock. Probably the only time of the day there are no flies. Im quite happy with this but it still has lots of noise even though i raised the ISO to 800. The star is Venus and then that the moon (obviously).

Cool shot & pretty low on noise with such a high iso, I normally shoot shots like these at iso 100 to lower the noise.....high iso = more noise & vice versa, great image though, kind regards,
Don

Thanks Tiff, what i meant was there was a lot of noise because i had raised the ISO to 800. Needed to increase ISO to make the shutter speed longer and thus capturing the light and its colours.

I love the graduated colour of the sky and the simple composition - a really cracking shot!  Kind regards, Anna

nice to see a different take on this very well known place. We normally see it in full sun full frame, but keeping the silohette and different lighting it works much better and you can still tell what the subject is.

As an Aussie, it is refreshing to see a different take on "the old boulder", as it has been taken so many times in its' varying colours at sunset.  Cheers, Andrew.
