Costa Blanca Y Negra

Rising from the sparkling blue Mediterranean sea, the precipitous rock formation called Penon De Ifach watches over the bay of Calpe. One of the most famous sights along the Costa Blanca coastline, Spain, Penon De Ifach is now a protected Natural Park. This monochrome conversion - shows the beautiful resort of Calpe - and the distinctive "Close Encounters" shape - of this natural outcrop.

I absolutely adore the original raw image of this - but strangely - have not posted it here - was playing about with various conversion techniques and came up with this one - the little "tree" is in fact no more than a few inches high - was worried about the snakes as I lay down low for this one.

Every thing is not as it seems - hence the obtuse title of this image - Not a castle - but the finishing blockhouse at the loch (lake) in Strathclyde Park situated between the towns of Hamilton and Motherwell - the facilities are used in better weather as the venue for rowing and sailing regattas.

A little explanation on the title is necessary - this looks like taken in full sunshine - it was taken at 10pm and is indeed is no more than a monochrome converstion of "Light Painting"- an earlier posting of the Glasgow Cathedral fascade - lit up by projectors during the recent International Festival Of Light.
