Hyndford Bridge

Hyndford Bridge

Completed in 1766 - this sandstone structure crosses the River Clyde some 2 miles SE of the town of Lanark - and is still used by heavy traffic on the A70(A73) to link up with the M74 heading to Carlisle and all points south - image was taken with a compact hand held camera etc. etc.

Another superb composition with the tree taking you up through the photograph and the bridge and fence leading your eye along.  Very pleasing subject matter too with a good amount light and shadow. Nice inclusion of the circle of wire to the left, really balances this out.

Beautifully sharp image Gil, great composition and great clarity. It just goes to show - it's not the equipment you use, it's the person behind it! Well done. Phil

I bet you've been out with your Lumix again haven't you Gil...lol!  It's a wonder why we swap to DSLRs when you can get this detail from a compact.  Mind you, Leica lens...know what I mean?  Cracking shot.  Steve.
