Well i am glad you got it on the first take!!! I doubt if she would still be waiting on take ten ...lol!  Did you do this inside - if so - bet your wife wasnt too thrilled!  But its a superb capture - almost like a tidal wave crashing over her.  Cheers Jo

A fantastic, fun and well lit action shot. While I do feel bad for the young lady, she should know that her sacrifice has paid off.

You caught this really well. But one can't help a feeling of schadenfreude. You've either got a very fast camera or a very wet set of children. And loads of washing to do . . . great capture and congrats on the front page. I suppose this means you'll be winning this week's competition then? Howard

This is a stunning shot, Gill, and definitely in the running for the comp this week.  Technical question - how did you sync the flash with such a fast shutter speed?

wow - thank you all for the comments !

Jo - hee - this wasn't the first take - the first balloon exploded on her shoulder - in the end we managed about 4 on target bursts before i had to swap to my other willing victim  ;o)

JD - she is very chuffed with the shot and has shown it to her school friends who now want one too - so it looks like i'm going to get several more victims - have to do some variations on the theme  methinks!

Tringle - i think i've got the same camera as you - the K10D and it was on 1/2500sec

ogga lily - well i'm even more of a bad mum than you thought lol because not only did she have to suffer the water bombs but was in blinding sunshine as well - the shot was done in the garden with a black sheet as background - no flash.

Gill, you must have the reactions of something with very fast reactions to have managed to get this after only a few goes and without running out of dry(ish) children. I thought you must have had one of those 60 frame a second Casio EX-F1's (on my shopping list). Kudos! Howard.
