Very nice composition and atmosphere, but if I can suggest  a bit of burning on the right windows to keep the cross as the centre of attention?

I said it all in the thread Harry - a top notch quality photograph - even more awesome in full size - I got to disagree with Guy - the light from the windows on the right make the shot - look at the shadows this side light casts on the floor due to the columns - I wouldn't change aa pixel - a truely magificent capture - a definite 5 stars from me - no hesitation.

I really like this photograph Harry and am in agreement with Gill about the lighting. Exposure in my opinion is perfect!  I feel like I could walk right into this photo. You have captured the atmosphere very nicely and I wouldn't change a thing. That being said, I think it might benefit with a little Unsharp Mask to sharpen it up.

Thanks very much for your very nice comments.

Although the exif states no flash, flash was used, but was fired manually on low power with the head at approx 45 deg.

Eric, I couldn't make up my mind on what level of sharpness to apply so opted for a little under rather than to much.
Sharpness was applied in three stages, during raw conversion, a little USM in PS then finally an High Pass with Soft Light Blend

A first class photo in every way. Interesting questions raised by the expert photographers above but in this case I think your judgement is right and the photo works perfectly as it is. 5/5 is must be.

congratulations for the POTD, it is a high difficulty shot, this kind of  light conditions cheat the meter and sometimes is hard to adjust correctly the exposition.
Kind Regards,

Harry I am far from an  expert on photography but the experts say that the elements that go to make a good general composition are line - shape - form - texture - pattern and colour add in the obvious for photography lighting and this shot has got the lot - a superb shot Harry sincere congratulations on a well deserved POTD
