Very nice shot Hugh, I'm not sure that swan shouldn't be done for bank erosion with the wake its putting up. I like the light pool in the background and the fact it suits mono very well. Best Regards BC.

Thanks for the comments everyone. The swan was really chugging down the canal, and I only managed to get a couple of shots off before he was at the bridge. I do need to revisit the editing of this shot, though, still trying to learn how to dodge and burn effectively (see the right side of the full sized image to see the poor job done).

Whoops, meant the left side of the image (must be getting old if I'm muddling up my right and left already). The dodging there is specular/noisy, that's what I meant.
