Llyn Teyrn - Snowdon
Tripod, Manual Ex, Spot metered, Sigma 10-20mm, CPL
Tis the rule of the SDCC (Salad Dodgers Camera Club), that nothing stops the group in pursuit of a good image.
Despite my normally excellent physical condition, I was overcome with Altitude sickness, Malnutrition, Dehydration, Malaria and Bird flu on the arduous walk up Snowdon and fell to the ground exhausted. As is the rule, my comrades left me to die, here, in the freezing wastes. My only recollection at this time, was hearing a voice saying ‘Can I have your camera’ quite possibly in a Scottish accent. I also recall someone trying to prise my tripod from my cold but not quite dead hand.
I awoke to the sound of the mountain rescue helicopter overhead. I desperately tried to signal them but they failed to spot me nor were they indeed looking for me. I later found out that Graham had dropped a fiver on pathway and had called the emergency services to help him locate it.
It was then my training kicked in. For what seemed like an eternity I was forced to survive on a diet of mosses, lichens and mountain water until finally I summoned the strength to walk the 300 yds back to the café.
In the evening my comrades ate cake.
