RAF Phantom

RAF Phantom

A poor scan of a print I took in 1988. Its from the back of a Hercules refueller over the Falkland Islands. Nothing between me and the cockpit. scared to death of dropping my camera. The consequences don't bear thinking about! Just thought I'd share this one with you. The black mask is the hole the fuel hose goes out of!

Were you in the Falkland conflict, or just there for training?  Very cool shot...

Fantastic shot of the 'Tomb'. Only been in a Herc once and cannot think how difficult it must have been to get such a good shot.

Ian Webb said:

Thanks again DD, it was more scary than difficult. Just a short crawl up the tailramp beside the re-fuelling hose. No safety harness and a gaping big hole!

Right time. right place and huge cajones to crawl up the tail ramp. Top marks for a great shot.
