Supporting Dad

Supporting Dad

Every Saturday, my husband and I, are up at the crack of dawn to go watch our sons play rugby. My camera goes with me evertime to capture those wonderful sporting moments in my sons and thier teams lives. This Saturday was no different - except that there was a mist that covered the fields when we got there. I was sitting on a bench, waiting for my youngest sons game to begin. And i decided to try out the camera settings, when i looked through the viewfinder, I realised that here was an image to be had! All my sports photos are shot in jpeg, so i shot this in jpeg, applied a sharpening filter and posted. And to top it all off, i got some really good sports shots as well that day - who could ask for anything better!!!

Jo, I can't actually see any detail in this at all. I guess it must be my monitor, or my browser. Weird, as obviously it's working for the other guys. Howard

Thank you Joe, Andrew, Mark, Hoberty, Bob & Juan.  Howard, this is a very low light image cos it was misty - but i just loved the way my husband was silhouetted against the mist, waiting for our son to start his game.  It appealed to me but i knew it wasnt going to appeal to everyone but thanks for looking.  Mark, I dont see they could see the ball cos they ended up losing horribly!

I am glad you like it Bruno.  Thanks Mark and yes all three of my sons played rugby - but it is normally my middle son, who puts my heart in my mouth as he plays a hard game and often ends up with injuries. Three weeks ago, he dislocated his shoulder on the field and the physio popped it right back in on the field ..... I almost died!  But i have to admit, i love taking the action photos of rugby, it is really exciting when you capture a great sporting moment (unfortunately its just school rugby - so no money exchanges hands ....lol)

Jo, there is really something about this...love the umbrella, its like a prelude scene to Midsommer Murders, it's just how the light falls on the hand holding the umbrella which introduces mystery...to be continued. Rgds Sharon. PS now if you don't critique on my "Husky in the Mist" picture I will just have to stab you myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great early morning feel to this one Jo...with that mist, your husband with the umbrella and the rugby teams, it looks as if it's a typical UK scene !!    Rgds, Tina.
