Houses of The Holy.

Houses of The Holy.

St.Edmunds/Old Crofton Church, right near my house. My initial plan was to use this as a publicity thing for the Friends of the Old Crofton Church fundraising schemes, but after I processed the HDR, it went sort of apocolyptic. Anyways, I like it. I hope you do too. Nikon D200. Sigma 17-35mm EX HSM @ 17mm. 7 exposures @ 1ev apart, merged into a HDRi. f/16 with a polarizer and .6 ND grad. Comments and critique appreciated.

I like it too Matt. I have seen similar images by other photographers and some people seem to dislike images like this and dismiss them as "overcooked". I disagree, done well, and this is, they are eye catching and dramatic. Great shot and super shot

Crikey, this is really eye catching. It works for me. How would it look in black and white?

lol i like your comment "it went sort of apocolyptic" i think it looks great. it works well for me as i really like the crazy tilted gravestones combined with the green grass covered in pools of shadow and the scary sky. i think it would look great on the cover of a book. if you didnt play with the camera you would nvr get a shot like this which is why digital photographys so great!

I'm not sure if HDR works for every image, but it certainly works for this one.  I am impressed by the amount of fine detail that can be achieved.  As Wayne said, it gives a very surreal effect.  Nice one.
