Home Grown

Home Grown

A saying here in the South of South Carolina is that there is nothing finer than being "Home Grown"! This is Main Street in my hometown of Spartanburg,South Carolina. Yesterday when I shot this, I thought it had a sort of "out of the wild west" feel to it. Spartanburg is really a progressive textile town , altho' downtown has been left out of the progressiveness.A revitalization is under way with hip coffee houses and boutiques.Nikon D80, ISO 100, Shutter 1/60, Aperture f/5.6,Focal 24mm.

A terrific image Nancy and that sky is just magical.........great subject matter and plenty to feast the eyes on here. Viewing it expanded is a must though, to see all the detail further on down the street!

I love this shot Nancy, I have only been to America once, in Florida - 3 years ago - so it is nice to see a different place on another continent. It has a personal feel and I love the sky. Thanks for sharing this with us. Zuzana

Hi Nancy this has to be seen in expanded to really appreciate the feeling of place and but for the cars and some obvious things like signs and the stars and stripes fluttering in the background it could be a place here in England, you've done a great job on this one i really like it.all the best Gav.
