The Last Plantagenet King

Another example of Leicestershire's royal heritage, this is the site of the battle of Bosworth in which the last plantagenet king of England - Richard III - was defeated by Henry Tudor in 1485. It effectively ended the War of the Roses. The battle still rages locally to clear the name of Richard the III as he has been cruelly mis-represented by historians and a certain William Shakespear trying to curry favour with Elizabeth I - not that you can blame them, she did have a habit of beheading her detractors!

Bradgate House ruins - chilhood home of Lady Jane Grey better known as the 'Nine day Queen of England'. I can't decide which I like best - this version or the mono version. Your opinions/comments would be very welcome as usual.

Bradgate Park - Leicestershire

This is the mono version of the ruins at Bradgate Park in Leicestershire - this was the childhood home of Lady Jane Grey better known as the 'Nine day queen of England'. She was proclaimed queen on July 10th 1553 but relinquished the throne nine days later to Mary Tudor who subsequently had her locked in the Tower of London and tried for treason. Lady Jane was beheaded in February 1554. Disclaimer - I'm not a historian so please accept my apologies for any historical inaccuracies!

The second of my experiments with Elements. Both shots were a little drab and lifeless before the treatment, and by no means perfect now, but I was quite pleased with the effect. Again this is Grasmere taken on the same day as the first shot. I love the Lake District...

I'd been trying to find out how to produce that 'dreamy' effect in Elements and by some strange coincidence DCM included the technique on their latest CD. So this is me having a bit of a play with a couple of my old shots. Taken at Grasmere in the Lake District with Autumn in full flow.

Ruined Windmills overlooking Gumbet and Bodrum in Turkey. This was taken just before I Was conned onto the back of a camel! My cloning skills are not good enough to get rid of the lens flare unfortunitely, plus it's the winmill that's crooked this time!!
