Thanks Phaepenn, the les is a telephoto, can be had for about £180. If you want to photograph stars and meteors, the best advice I can give is to set the lens at about 50-100mm depending on what you have, and in manual mode set the aperture to about f8 and the shutter on bulb. You can then hold the shutter open for several minutes (up to about 30) It is essential to use a tripod or some sort of support and a remote release (about £!5) to get a steady shot. the meteors will record as random streaks against the star trails. It can be fun, but because of the time the shutter stays open, the battery wil drain quick.
