Have you ever been in a strange town and had a surreal moment? It happened for me in Alnwick on Sunday, seeing a santa walking his santa dog with a santa child in tow. I turned the corner and saw scores of santas. When I asked, it was a 'Santa saunter' for the local Hospice, but it did seem a strange sight. I was confused over who's knee to sit on and who to give my list to, lol!

I've driven past this many times and always intended to stop but parking isn't easy as it's on a feeder road to a motorway. it's kind of a, I don't know what you'd call it, farm? nursery? with crops covered in plastic and hoops but on a grand scale. There were so many great shots but I couldn't get at many for trees and bushes and, of course, it was on private property. I might just drive up some time and actually ask the owner if I can wander around with the camera.

A warehousing estate has developed fairly close by and I love the effects of the trees they've planted in front, particularly when they contrast colours or give a pinstripped sky effect.

We stopped in an area of Scotland, whilst B&B-ing in a known hiking area and found the house not only decorated to a high quality but clean enough to carry out surgery in and with light carpets and furnishings too! This amazed me with the type of guests they must get and the dirt that must get trampled in. We had the psycholgical urge to take our shoes off as soon as we got through the door, lol! It was the first year they had opened so I'd like to see it in another five years!
