Land Ho!

Land Ho!

Shot this during 04:00 - 08:00 dog watch which fortunately coincided with land fall. I used my Nikon Coolpix 4500 for this shot as it offers up some tremendous depth of field whilst still allowing me to shoot at a safe hand held shutter speed. Land ahead is Turkey, to starboard side is the Greek Islands. 1/3 rule is not always practicable on these type of shots.

Lovely shot Sam - great detail and colours. The bit or red sail against the sky works really well in complimenting the sunrise. Well done. Cheers, Col.

Stunning shot. I think this is a sunrise? The yacht makes a very good foreground and the picture has a great sense of atmosphere. The few photos I have seen in your gallery are all excellent and I will return to view the rest when I have more time available.
