Totty, I think you shouldn't be afraid of having people to vote or rate your images!

Thanks Felipe, you may not be aware of some of the awful comments which have been left on my gallery, they have been vicious, most I have took off, just left the odd one so that people can see what is happening.
explained I was a novice but it didn't stop them, so all I ask is that people say if they like them or offer tips which would help me improve
your interest is much appreciated thanks

I understand, been there before... :-)
Regardless on whether or not we are novices or pros, RESPECT is something that lately is missing on this community.
Not sure if this is caused by ignorance, jelousy or lack of education.
It seems to me, that some people instead of learning, compete and show their artistic skills; they only release poison. Quite sad.
Kind regards,
Felipe

This one is very nice...If you camera has manual controls, you can decrease your exposure 1 or 2 stops and the white highlights would retain their detail...If you don't have manual control, you can aim the camera at the brightest point, press the button halfway, then while still holding the button halfway, compose the shot the way you want it to look in the viewfinder, then press the button the rest of the way....also, leave the flash off (although it doesnt' look like you used flash on this one)...
However, having said that, I kind of like the artistic feel of the blown highlights on this one...not everything has to be done textbook to be beautiful...
