One of a huge number of shots from the local car show - I was trying to be Duckprints, but somehow got distracted . . the amount of 'air' these chaps were getting was quite something. They're braver (and significantly lighter) than me, that's for sure.

Weekend competition entry - 'Natural Beauty'. I was determined not to do flora or fauna, for a start because everyone else would do it better than me - so that left looking for a decent sunset, which didn't materialise. Also, as this competition is about minimal editing I wanted to use my bridge camera. For fizzio, exif Fuji S9500 1/105sec f4.9 ISO 200 at 35mm equivalent zoom of 200mm. Editing consists of crop, brightness +3, contrast +6, unsharp mask 0 levels, 1 pixel radius, 50%

This old tiger is at the zoo at La Teste de Buch. He is now very old and slow, suffering from arthritis. He is the same age as the zoo owner's son and grew up hand reared by them and was the family 'pet cat' for a number of years, until they found him a mate. I suspect that when he dies there will be tears. Not quite as sharp as I would have liked, but hand held and he was in the shade. K10d Tamron 28-300 at 300mm 1/90 f6.3
