God?? We've got a problem...

Shot is taken on a Croatian Catholic Youth Meeting, last month. This crane lifted up a photographer who took a "millenium photo" of the whole croud. I wanted to get just the crane,photographer and the clouds, to get a feeling of how high it was. Later I played a bit in photoshop and made the crane pop trough the clouds (in original, crane was in front of clouds). When I finished, it looked a bit funny to me - like guy was lifting up to the Heaven to tell the God we're in a big trouble,... so could He please save us just one more time. Then "Huston, we've got a problem" blinked in my mind. And that's where name comes from.

Croatian Catholic Youth Meeting

This weekend (26-27.4.2008.) over 22 thousand young people from Croatia and Bosnia And Herzegovina came to Varazdin (Croatia) to share and celebrate their faith in God. This picture is stiched from 16 shots: 8 shots of the sky, and 8 of people below. Lots of work, but I think it's worth it. Don't miss to see it in full size.

Taking this shot caused me swet. First I didn't have any good background (shooting at home), so i took one of my sisters t-shirts for that. Then I realized the light was week, so i stole some alu-folio from my mom and asked my sister to hold it and try to get the best of this late afternoon light. Then I took this flower in one hand and my Canon in other - took 3 shots and was happy with result (considering above :)

This is one of my first shots taken with my new Canon EOS 400D. St Nicholas is baroque church in the center of the Varaždin (Croatia). I like the way this photo makes it much bigger than it is. Happy to hear your comments :)

Turtle Beam

Sony DSC-H1 1/25 sec f/3.2 ISO 100 This shot is taken in Natural History Museum in London. I like the way this turtle floats under this arch. It almoust makes it look like coming out of its shelter which gives this amazing architecture a new, underwater dimension. The title "Turtle Beam" comes from Stephen King's novel series Dark Tower.
